Many Republicans are voting for Obama in Texas and they plan to vote for McCain in November. The equity of the election in Texas is highly debatable.

Shouldn't the DNC and Howard Dean, do something about this issue? Republicans are coming together, interfering in OUR election for their own gains.

Due to this monstrosity, shouldn't Michigan and Florida regain it's delegates? I think so.

Let's start getting together, urging the DNC to reinstate the delegates for Michigan and Florida due to the interference of the Republicans in Texas.

I was reading through Musings (political blog) and this one entry was just ridiculous. Basically Republicans for Texas set this email out:

E-mail to send to Texas Republicans

Attention All Texas Republicans and Independents!!

On March 4th, Texas Republicans and Independents will have an opportunity to end Hillary Clinton's (and Bill's) presidential ambitions once and for all!

Since Texas has on open primary, Republicans and Independents should sign in at their polling place and request a Democratic ballot. They should then vote for Barack Obama. Even James Carville admits that if Hillary loses Texas, "she's done!" Republicans can help make this a reality!!! Just think, no more Clintons in the White House!

Voting Democratic this one time will have NO effect on your ability to vote in the next Republican primary or obviously on your vote in November. Since John McCain has the Republican nomination locked up, voting for McCain or Huckabee at this point will have no effect on the outcome on the Republican side.

After you vote during early voting or on March 4th, you ARE NOT done! Report back to your regular polling place at 7PM on March 4th to sign the Barack Obama list for caucus delegates. In a little known Texas voting quirk, 67 delegates to the Democratic convention will be seated because of these caucuses. This is a full one-third of the total number of Texas delegates. For Hillary to lose, she has to lose the primary votes AND the caucus votes.

I urge you to vote against Hillary Clinton by voting for Barack Obama. Please forward this e-mail to all your Texas Republican and Independent friends so that we can help ensure the Clinton's defeat on March 4th!!!

These same type of tactics are what caused the Republican base to loose a generation of voters.

I'm for Hillary.

I hear ya loud and clear. It is a DISGRACE that Independents and Republicans have the opportunity to contaminate the Democratic nomination process. Only registered Democrats should be able to vote in the primaries. All this "democrat for a day" stuff is APPALLING!

she got an e-mail asking her to vote for Obama on the primaries to get rid of the Clintons. She had always voted republican. She just does not like Hillary.
But she told me: "This year everything is different. I am a woman & And I believe we women are prepeared for it & is our time. I have a 3 years old girl & I want her to identify herself with a woman as a President. I want the best for my girl, & want her to understand that we woman are able to do the same as men, have aspirations"

She voted Hillary, she will vote for her in the general elections... Ahhh!!! she is from Texas.

I have been sending emails on daily bases to Mr. Dean to count my vote and seat Florida and Michigan delegates!!!! The only emails I get back from them is to ask for money which I reply every time "count my vote and I will think about it."

Great response to their requests for your money - I like your attitude! :)

How does a primary reflect the will of the people if its raided by republicans?

I'm really afraid that this may not be restricted to the open primary states. I'm from Pennsylvania, and 15,000 republican voters have switched to register as democrats in the middle of the state alone.

I plan to protest outside of my election place with friends on April 22. I wish at least those in open primary states would do the same. How else will this issue get attention?

Throughout the primaries, it has seemed suspect to me that Obama has received such a disproportionate number of switchover republican and "independent" voters compared to Hillary. Even if we give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume they disagree w/McCain's war policy, why would 70% of them vote for Obama, the more "radical" of the democratic candidates?

To throw the election!! They know they can beat him in the G.E. so they vote for him now to keep her out!!

That, but also he isn't really the more radical candidate on anything other than the war. I suspect the right is more scared of her then there are of him, because she will get things done. He's great for people who are angry about the war, but otherwise still quite conservative, and don't really want someone who will not take a tough line with the special interests, because they own stock in the oil companies. Wine rack liberal is an excellent name for him. The republicans are smart enough to know this, but unfortunately the so called progressives who think he is one of them aren't.

Yep I know. I was posing a rather rhetorical question. But... my point is that everyone talks as though this raiding is only a problem in open primaries. At least here in PA, a closed primary state, republicans were free to switch parties well after McCain was the obvious nominee. So they'll vote for Obama in the primary and vote McCain in the general.

Explain to me again what's democratic about this democratic process?

I just saw a LIVE poll on t.v. and every person there who was voting for Hillary in this part of the election said she should stay in EVEN if she loses Texas AND Ohio AND they said they would NOT vote for Obama in the G.E.!!!

I've run twenty casual polls this month on the net with the SAME results.

Then one of pundits said that he was afraid that Obama was alienating the base of the democratic party, that many people who are the core of the party are not going to vote for him because he's not clear on the issues and he's split the votes so much. He said he was afraid if people do not get behind Hillary now that we cannot take back the White House.

Hello??? Dean???? We've all been saying this for weeks now.

Pennsylvania needs to be called A LOT people. I know that is HER base the same as Ohio.

Her vote on the war has been TOTALLY misrepresented and frankly I think she will get us out better than Obama ever could. Tonight two young soldiers who were involved in the war and both injured were backing her and her WAY to get out.

Obama is going to lose the dems the White House if he is the nominee. No question. Core democrats need to make those voting Obama right now that this WILL happen. He cannot stand up to McCain.

The Live poll I saw tonight?? There was even one republican there voting against Hillary who flat out said he would not vote Obama in the G.E.

As dems we need to be aware, make other dems aware and take back this election!
