OVERVIEW

The graded forum membership scheme will take full effect from November 1st 2009 onwards. All payments will be received by Ondizo LLC (http://www.ondizo.com), an LLC established to accept payments for the forum. All online transactions will continue to be managed independently and securely via PAYPAL (http://www.paypal.com).

* You can purchase upgraded access NOW (via paypal) and you will have instant access to the features associated with the PREMIUM level. To access an instant upgrade, see "subscriptions via paypal" in the "payment options" section below.

* All accounts not upgraded will default to BASIC access on November 1st, 2009. If you don't plan to upgrade your account, you don't need to do anything, but please see the link below to know how your access will change - e.g. PM capacity will reduce, and avatars/signatures will be deactivated November 1st.

* To see the full list of features associated with each level – BASIC vs PREMIUM – go to the link below: http://www.commongroundpolitics.net/membership

If you have any questions or feedback, please send me a PM (fastest response) or email me at: admin@commongroundpolitics.net

THANK YOU!

I don't understand pay pal, so I will send a check. That I understand! Address, envelope, stamp check, I'm there!!
Supposedly (so i was told) it takes a few weeks to activatate a pay pal account anyway.
I tried to use the donate button here once a along time ago, I was unable to reconcile my check book for months. As it turned out my donation never actually went through. So check is good.

Paypal is actually an excellent system once it becomes familiar. You don't have to have a paypal account to use it as payment method either. You can simply use it on a one-off basis without ever registering with paypal.

Yes, you can make a donation if you prefer and I would manually upgrade your account based on the figures in this table:

http://www.commongroundpolitics.net/membership/

By $10 or less, I am referring to the fact that with the subscriptions, the more time that is purchased the cheaper it is (on average) per month. For example, if you purchased one month of premium it is $10, but if your purchased a six months block it is $50 which averages out as $8.30 per month.

It was so rushed that some fellow travelers were in a taxicab accident. I'd taken a different cab and, luckily, missed the excitement. One cab t-boned another while trying to rush through traffic. Everyone was okay but for 2 of them it was their first NYC experience. I think they've been scarred.

LOL. They just sat there in the cab. One of them texted me to let me know they were in the accident. They waited in case they needed to give statements. Later they told me that a policeman showed up and told them to just get in another cab and get going. They didn't make any 'statements'

But they learned a lot during their first trip.

You are up to date!

1. If the "paid subscription" feature in the "user control panel" (http://www.commongroundpolitics.net/discussion/payments.php) is used, the upgrade is instant.

2. If the general donation link (on the main page) (http://www.commongroundpolitics.net/discussion) is used, the upgrade takes effect when I manually upgrade the account.

To clarify (as some people have asked questions relating to this):

1. When you purchase an upgrade through the user control panel (http://www.commongroundpolitics.net/discussion/payments.php), the effect of the upgrade is instant if you use paypal funds or a credit card ("e-check" isn't instant because the funds have to clear first). A purchase made via this paypal method ("subscription") does NOT communicate your paypal address to the recipient of the funds.

2. If you make a simple donation via the forum link (http://www.commongroundpolitics.net/discussion) on the main page, your account has to be manually upgraded by admin and the upgrade is delayed until that is done. A purchase made via this paypal method ("donation") DOES communicate your paypal address to the recipient of the funds.

So in summary: Option 1 is a more efficient way to upgrade (instantaneous effect if use paypal funds or credit card) and it is also a more private method of paypal payment (as your paypal address is not shared with the recipient of the funds).

Foxy, bless you for starting this thread! CGP bears the entire cost of this forum himself except for the few who have a monthly plan. Their help is hugely appreciated, but the return is small because the plans are designed to be as low cost and affordable as possible. So a donations thread is a great idea!!

My friends, it's entirely voluntary, but if you have anything to spare, even a couple dollars, please donate. Everything helps!

Has anyone having problems with PayPal? I've been trying to use it since early this morning but the site tells me to contact the merchant.

Sorry to be a problem, but I have this thing being on time. Thanks for any help.

KB, I didn't have any problems. If by merchant they mean the forum then perhaps CGP can check it out for you. You might want to send him a PM in case he misses this thread.

Thank you for helping out! @};- @};- :)
