Going to be a close one, but I voted for TaoOfBill because I feel he defends Democratic policy more than Brooke.

My impression is that Brooke has a more "independent" streak when it comes to party politics whereas Tao is more likely to stick to the party line.

Gee, thanks.

This poll is for MODERATE Democrats. Tao is a complete liberal. He's not moderate. A moderate is someone who isn't one side or the other, which is me. I'm a Democrat but I don't defend every single policy they enforce. My views are more to the center. I used to be a hard core liberal but my own life experiences over the past 10 years especially (being laid off 3 times) can really change your political views. I'm more of a realistic Democrat.

And I just put myself ahead.

Tao is a moderate Democrat. The poll isn't based on your definition. I wasn't attacking you either, I said Tao defends Dem policy more than Brooke. That's my criteria. Sorry it offended you.

That's fine. I don't really care, I just don't consider his views moderate at all, but if he does, he's entitled.

I'm happy to be nominated and be voted for regardless.

I voted Brooke too because I find Tao's views in line with mine very very often and I'm not a moderate.

What a shock. You don't like me. So it wouldn't matter what Tao's views were.

So I think my description (http://www.commongroundpolitics.net/discussion/showpost.php?p=665122&postcount=11) was accurate!

I consider myself a moderate because I am a realist. I believe there are times where it's okay to sacrifice environmental standards for economic reasons. I believe war is sometimes necessary. And I am against the punishment for victimless crimes such as drugs, gambling and prostitution.

These aren't very liberal stances.

Being a moderate democrat does not mean to me that I have to be in the center politically. Calling myself a democrat implies that I am to the left.

But there are too many things I disagree with liberals on to call myself one.
