Well, seems we have recovered all the subforums except the main one thus far. Still trying to salvage it! It had 1,000 threads and 12,000 posts so I won't be happy if its gone...

I saw it earlier...the self-confessed trolls!

To be expected.

Democratic Underground is a VILE site that willingly allows the hatred, victimization and abuse of other groups. The site is already facing legal action. Seemingly it wants some more? It may just get it from me.

It may take more LEGAL ACTION against Democratic Underground before the OWNERS take action to stop members participating in the hateful denigration and slander of other people/groups who do not support BARACK OBAMA. Yes, DU participates in the HATRED and ABUSE of people and groups who do not support BARACK OBAMA. So, in this regard, Democratic Undeground is playing a direct role in SUPPORTING HATE based on the basic of political preference.

Hopefully Mr. Murray will figure it out and we will not have to worry about it. Thanks Murray for being on top of things!

Right, sometimes you don't completely appreciate something until it's gone.

I just felt LOST today, nowhere to go where I knew others would appreciate my input and I would find valuable contributions by other Hillary supporters. Another thread talked about a back up site but I don't know what that was. Is there a back up site we can go to next time?

Thanks for doing all you are doing to get the forum back. We are patient people so don't over do yourself.

I was thinking yesterday......it's not fair to you that we all contact you in a situation as we have just incountered........so what about an email tree. My son's school has a phone tree. In case something unexpected happens the teacher calls 5 people then those 5 call 5 people. The whole class is covered. What if we did an email tree in case this were to happen again. You email 10 people then those ten email 25 people. With you being the administrator you have your self busy enough you cant be expected to do all the emailing. Let others help you. I would be more than happy to be a branch of am email tree. It's just a suggestion.

I just went back and read more of their posts, and I'm furious!

A prominent elected official in my area called my partner and I and left a message on our answ. machine urging us to donate to the democratic party. As an FYI, my partner and I have generously donated to democratic candidates and causes in the past, but we've become disenchanted of late. How are we supposed to be excited about the democratic party when Howard Dean, the DNC and MSM are "ordaining" a candidate that half of us don't want? When I see buffoons like those people at the underground site making fun of us, it just strengthens my resolve to vote for McCain in the general election if Hillary doesn't win the democratic nomination. I refuse to fall into line!

abbywilson9

Hi:

Good for you. I could vote for John McCain because I think that he is a great American. He remained in a horrible Vietnam Prisoner of War Camp, and let others go in front of him, when he could have been released.

He also greatly admires Hillary Clinton. However, even John McCain knows that he does not have Hillary's brilliance for business, solving problems regarding the economy and health care. Nevertheless, Senator McCain is a great American in my opinion.

I think Hillary could win as an Independent and win with a huge landslide victory. The people want her. In my opinion, the news media prints more lies than truth. I am shocked at how the “Good ole Boys Club” are so opposed to women in leadership positions. Who would have thought that of Ted Kennedy.

I am now an Independent due to many situations just like this.

We really need Hillary and I believe that she is much further along in the polls than is being reported.

If Michigan and Florida are not counted, then this is not a legal election. A true democracy would not ignore the votes/voices of over 3 million citizens.

With kind regards,

Abby

To Barack Obama, his site, and his arrogant and hateful fans.

Hi:

Write this down and etch in stone. There are two types of people in this world. The humble and the fixing to be humble.

Your arrogance is your down fall and your destruction. You are your own destruction. "Pride goes before a great fall and a haughty spirit before destruction."

Unfortunately, just like Obama's preacher you know nothing of the Holy Scriptures.

"He who laughs last laughs loudest." When Hillary wins the election by a landslide, what are you going to say?

By the Grace of God, she shall win by a land slide and she will help this nation. There are more great Americans among us than impolite thugs like you.

Shame on you and your Obama voting mama for not teaching you better manners. You must also watch Oprah.

I'm confused over the amount of bandwidth spent on wondering if a bunch of spankers hacked this site. It feeds paranoia. If I may be so brash may I suggest not giving into the myth that anyone cares what du says or does? If you read other sites all over the www/net du is not considered sane. I know some here were there before. Let this be a lesson.

A well balanced person has political opponents and not enemies.

Look at what Hillary did with Republicans and conservatives in NY State. Her example is to be followed as well as admired.

As a US Senator, Hillary Clinton has reached across the aisle and the ideological divide to opponents who had treated her as an enemy. She showed grace and maturity and class where it would've been understandable to do otherwise. In her actions she showed us the way to deal with those who are serious yet misguided as opposed to those who are filled with hate, fear and self-loathing.

my two cents

hipelayne
04-10-2008, 11:40 AM
that are gloating about the hacked site. The Clinton backers have mostly left the site and branched off to form their own site......At DU they "tombstone" a user because he/she says something.that the MODS find not proper.they also have a inner mass system to their "click" to alert for abuses and to get the Clinton supporters off the board.....the board use to be a peaceful place.but the O's have taken control....and now it is no longer neutral...

Everyone here should know they are making a difference for Hillary's nomination. Without this site, my hopes for taking it all the way to Denver would have diminished slowly.

Having the reinforcement that HRC really does have the support of an engaged and concerned electorate (besides the 13 million people who've voted for Hillary already) energizes me.

We all thank you for your efforts. I want to cross-reference something I posted earlier on cyberbullying and tracking down hackers:
http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.php?t=5436, which may be appropriate here.
New laws are being formulated, but this is an example of technology being ahead of the law. I also want to stress the need to reinstate the Fairness in Media Act as a talking point for tomorrow's protest. We are a nation of laws, and we need to remember that, but the law moves slowly. But I can't stress enough -keep your eye on the prize - the election of Hillary Rodham Clinton our next PRESIDENT OF THE US.

If the person responsible is found, file a report with the District Attorneys office in the county in which they reside. Get a case number. Then it's official. Then send the info to the media. It's a reflection on their candidate, and the public should know.

I read every post over at that vile narrow minded site last night. What I learned is, these people are not very intelligent. They have no motivation other than hate.
They mock our posts, when you read what it is that they think we said, it is laughable.
Shows you what the MSNBC etc. really knows, they report that the BO zombies are more intelligent and better educated than we are, yet they can't even understand the simplest of our concepts and ideas.
The higher minded posts leave them utterly confused, they repeat what their lower comprehension level allows them to understand and there is zero understanding of the concepts, ideas or even things that are HISTORY and taught in school!!
I guess thats what smokin dope and raggin on people does to a young inexperienced mind...it stagnates!!
They only run people down that haven't been influenced by the Kool-Aide!!
You notice that they are not pro-active for their candidate..they aren't off their butts actually doing something positive!! They are mad that we can organize and get "stuff done, as BO says".
If you read the blogs out there you realize people that really are intelligent don't want to be associated with these thug types. The ones that do still want BO to win are calling on the hate mongerers to stop. That Hillary supporters do have the power to make BO lose in the G.E., if his thug supporters don't prevent him from making it that far. These are the same thugs that are reported on in the caucuses. These are the ones that BO lets do his dirty work as he preaches change, while people think he has clean hands but again...I can see the filth on them!!
That is all the energy I will give trolls with no purpose in their confused lives..I feel sorry for them!!!

Glad we're back on Murray. You do such a good job with this site Murray, and believe me it shows. Lots of guys would have just said the heck with it tonight, I need some sleep, but you stayed up all night and continually show the dedication that you have to bring a top notch professional approach to this site with your management and posts.:):):)

I'm guessing there's no way to block visitors and to delete new accounts that have no posts after a week?

Sorry I've been on so many forums that have been hijacked. It's not just political ones shipper forums are always messed with. But we usually have a no troll/visitor and no posts after a week = banned.

Just a suggestion if it's possible.

LOL I love how Obamabots think that they're so young and that no HRC supporters know their way around a computer. Personally I'm just a nicer person I wouldn't hack into their site, but don't temp me. ;)

i thought that making the site "members only" was the solution. but when i thought it out, even that woudn't stop them if they are determined. if this site is made "members only", all they need do is register. as long as an ob troll is registered and only looking, he/she hasn't violated the rules here. so, guess we can ignore them. they go on and on like they have on du, just shows, to me anyway, that they are both uneducated, lack the ability to think, and are scared. :)

i am getting blocked again. i get this:

susannah, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Thanks so much, Murray. I, too, hope the perpetrators of this invasion are discovered and get what's coming to them.

I'm bitterly disappointed by the actions and mentality of those who feel they must disrupt a website because they don't agree with its members/posts/threads. I can't imagine having nothing more constructive to do in life. This is the first election in a long time that has generated so much excitement and to have it marred by so much hatred and rancor is awful.

Thanks again for all you do.

True that's why I've been to forums that delete an inactive member if they have no posts after a week. You could always have mod/admin approval and then check the email addy just in case but that's time consuming. *shrugs* it's like 007 up in here. :)

And now it's moving like a race car....

When for the last 2 days it was moving like a damn snail....

Despite saying everything was secure I kept worrying when the site slowed down... what if? And then boom, it happened. How can they hack the site? Is freedom of speech a thing of the past in this country just so a lying sack of you-know-what can steal the nomination for Prez of the Democratic party?

It seems to me that a faction of Democrats have become vigilantes. If you don't say or believe the way they do, knock them down and don't let their voices be heard. Really? Is that how it's going to be? And these are the youthful voters they crave so badly??? You know what, screw them. Who needs these self-centered a**holes anyway. Go back to your IPods and text messaging and your violent video games. Or just grow the f**k up!!

Mad as hell and NOT going to take this anymore!!!!!

Abby

I responded in the previous post like that because I'd followed the link to the DU and it was the first time I'd read any of their posts. I was angry because they were gloating that this site might have been hacked. They seem to think we're a joke. Well to them I say, who cares what you think? If one or more of their members hacked this site then YES we have every reason to be mad at them!

This was the very reason I never went over there to read anything. From hearing about how much Clinton bashing was going on over there I knew I didn't need to read their garbage.

So, thank you Murray for all you do. It seems to me that no matter what time I come here you are always online! I often wondered IF you sleep! Now I know you probably don't get enough shut eye. You are amzing. What dedication and energy.

Thank you! :)

Cute. But they really do have philosophical differences -- and Hillary should be the President, not VP on the ticket. I am appalled at the idea of four more Republican years if the worst happens, but am prepared to vote McCain if HRC isn't the nominee. I will hold my nose when I punch "McCain" but I'll do it without a thought for Dean, Pelosi, Kennedy, Kerry, the DNC and the MSM who shoved this man down our very sore throats.

Which is why we don't go there. Keep positive and Hillary WILL win this nomination and become our President. Period.

Sure glad to see this back in form - talk about frustration last night! For a minute there, I thought it was something I said LOL... and yes.. I looked for a bit into the DN site.. it was disgusting to say the least. These people have absolutely no class at all and their comments were not impressive, to say the least! A majority of them bordered on the inane and illiteracy. Nothing meaningful at all.

It's just cyber trash, that's all and should be treated as such (after they are done with the lawsuit (s) filed against them.

that are gloating about the hacked site.

I wonder if the Obama Campaign is aware of how their supporters are behaving there? I would think it would be a major embarrassment to the campaign.

The DU is the stupidest website I've ever seen - hate the place. I know they tried to hack another Hillary site (some sort of offshoot of their board that the Hillary supporters that left the place created) so I wouldn't be surprised if they were behind it. A bunch of whiny members of the "I'm special" generation with nothing better to do with their time - ack - talk about problems with America's future.

As for those that say Hillary supporters aren't educated I guess that means my Master's degree means nothing? Morons.

I'm assuming all offending DU people that come over here to cause problems are being IP banned - that will help with the ones that actually show themselves at least.

Abby, I can relate to what you say. A few years back I supported Ross Perot because it appeared that neither major party was really listening to the voters. Rather, the special interests were driving the campaigns. And here we are in our Party with a chance to nominate Hillary, a candidate who DOES listen to the people, who has sound proposals for solutions to the problems that really affect American people, and what's happening? The "good ole boys" hand in glove with major media are doing everything they can to torpedo her campaign.
Bottom line, Obama simply does not have the experience or the judgement I want to see in a Presidential candidate. And the deeper one digs, the more this comes into question. And, yes, character counts.
Like you, I respect John McCain as a man of character. He doesn't have the depth on economic issues that Hillary does, I agree. But if Hillary is not our nominee, I will seriously consider being a "28%-er."

That was the intention, however it backfired and I am noticing that this forum is better, stronger, better prepared, organized and bigger than ever. It's drawing a lot of people, it's got more fight in it, and the determination is there. They couldn't stop us no matter how hard they tried. Murray,

Can we have a good daily backup of the site to other location (not local machine)??? Incase it is down again, we can switch it to another server, domain, etc. We should have email list of all members stored and archived somewhere else so if the site down, you can send email to let all members know that they need to use other temporary location.

Thanks for your hard work to have the site up again. We cannot live with out it:D

Me too - I was so confused and picked up an email wishing me Happy Birthday on the 7th - it felt good. Thank you but I replied asking if I had been kicked out of the forum and I honestly was very unhappy and lost without this amazing place to vent and hear and listen and vote vote vote and blog, of course.

I felt lost too. I was so glad that it came back so quickly. I'm addicted and proud of it. This forum is an amazing outlet for those of us supporting Hillary.

Thank goodness for this place or I might lose hope. There's too much Anti-Hillary out there. Tis a scary internet now.

And my understanding is that CYBER STALKING is ILLEGAL!

I have reported the Ob**a campaign of WV because they kept sending me emails. I repeatedly emailed them back to ask how they got my name and email address, to no avail. I consider that cyber-stalking and told them I am fully aware that it is illegal.

So, I contacted the WV Democratic party and got some asinine answer that made no sense. I am waiting to resolve it and then I will post the whole exchange here... in case others are having the same trouble.

THANKS SO MUCH MURRAY, FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK AND PUTTING YOUR HEART INTO THIS SITE.

I knew something was up when I couldn't log on.

What goes around comes around. Obamatrons will not have their candidate as the nominee. America is too smart for that, I pray.

What happened? I was kicked off the site for no reason, I just joined the group last week and only posted twice, this was very weird to me, I'm glad I came back to see if I could log in or not, and found out the site has been hacked, I bet it was an Obama Supporter, who tried to shut the site done before the protest in Penn for Hillary, this is very cruel and I hope the people responsible for this are caught and fined.
