I've got Today on. They are simply reporting that there is a "larger than average crowd outside."
If anyone sees any news of the protest, please post it here. I am working from my home office today so I can tune in, and we should keep track of who gave the protest coverage so we can follow up on our emails!

No I don't. I hope for about 20-30 peoples.
I don't count of live coverage. I think if the they cover us, they will bring the tape back to the studio for editing.

... .. If you cannot attend in person, let your voice be heard by joining the email campaign all day long. We are tired of journalistic integrity taking a back seat to Obama adulation. We expect the media to INFORM us, not LEAD us. We want the votes in Florida and Michigan to count. We are tired of continued demands for Hillary Clinton to drop out of the race prematurely.

Protest Campaign Against Media Bias and in Support of Hillary Clinton

just caught another glimpse outside but no signs for our protest and demonstration... sadly though flipping through the stations I am hearing some disturbing news about Bill Clinton bringing up Bosnia again and how HRC misspoke because she is 60 years old and tired... omg he said it twice and then Morning Joe joked with David Axelrod (BO campaign mgr) "how much is bo's campaign paying bill? to keep this story alive for your candidate and worse is on FOX that some young girl (Republican) erroneously reporting the hospital story on the young women dying and her unborn child and then again the pressure for Hillary to drop out and that she is breaking the party staying in....
AND THEN MSNBC is having a BIG RACE SHOW tonight at 9 p.m. hosted by Brian Williams with David Wilson (two david wilsons one Caucausian the other AA and one owned the other family) the promo says "oh we want to have this great race conversation and now we can..." still the hell with converstaion on Bias or Sexism....well I guess Bo is down in the polls ya think?????

Coordinate the Protest with our ground crew!
Tomorrow [FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2008] is a protest planned in NY against the anti-hillary bias in the media... particularly against MSNBC and CNN. Even though many of may not be able to go. If we could all send several
emails in solidarity with the protestors in NYC.. that would be great... the email list is below(My friends and I have 10 copies of this following letter drafted and ready to send tommorow).
Thank you!

The subject line: WE BOYCOTT MSNBC
-----------------------------------------------
The letter:
Dear MSNBC
I am going to boycott MSNBC until you have fair media coverage. Olbermann and Matthews are no longer reporters, they are an extension of the Obama fan club. We need fair coverage of the candidates. While perhaps Matthews and Olbermann do not want to vet Obama, you can be sure that McCain will. They have done all democrats a disservice. Hillary should not leave the campaign, and FL and MI must count. To use pundits in order to try to pressure Hillary to quit is disgraceful. Either have them cover the candidates fairly, without bias, or fire them. I will boycott MSNBC and the sponsors until this is fixed.
Sincerely
P.S. We appreciate the fairness of Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan.

It's IndyRobin and I wrote a speech for the protest today and mailed it to
Freethinker. Afterwards, I caught several typo's, spelling errors etc so can you get ahold of Freethinker and tell her NOT to give a copy to ANYONE.
Also, I would ask that it NOT be posted here or anywhere else. I will be using my protest letter later to help keep our video alive which in the long term can only help Hillary.
THANKS,

Time for a second round of emails. Does anyone have a cellphone contact of email to a Qphone to someone at the Protest? They might do better walking to and from CBS, ABC, & NBC. Maybe another station will pick it up to embrass NBC. They all have outside reporting and full view windows to the inside reporting area. One sign making it on air is all we need.

They just don't want to admit it. I heard the talking heads on MSNBC asking are we misogynists? then making excuses for themselves. I believe the MAD AS HELL/BITCH and the protest, etc., do have an effect. It's subltle and insidious, which to my way of thinking, means it will be longer lasting and will rise to the surface again after the jerks have had time to wrap their little pea-brains around it and the news outlets find their ratings shrinking.

Policemen in full view is just not normal for the Today show. They are probably trying to keep our supporters back far enough so that they cannot be seen on the TV. There is probably an area that the show knows people won't show up if they are beyond that area.

Long shot at the end of the local newsbreak going to commercial. They're behind barriers at the end of the Rockefeller Center streets. Showed them from behind and far away. About 100 I'd say from the limit view.

I noticed the same things, large bus blocking view, police to the right, and something is causing a commotion because it does seem the hosts cannot concentrate on what they are suppose to be reporting on.
I sure hope the protesters are taking pictures for us to see (or maybe it's safer for them not to post their pictures with threats that have been made against some Hillary supporters) but hopefully they'll all write to us on the forum about their experience.

Bet NBC wish the weather reports were right and it had rained this morning. When I called the NBC # the girl answering sounded worn out with calls. Keep emailing and calling. You can hear the megaphone in the background, something is going on and Kathy Lee is overdoing it trying to distract!

I called NBC at 212-664-4444 expressed my dissatisfaction -- they said it was aired briefly in the News segment on Channel 4 and will be aired again at 11am -- I said disappointed that it was not focused on by the Today show because they were there in the audience...and got connected to the Today show... that person spoke with someone and said they cannot interrupt the Today show for a news item. I said, look, I watch your show and you cover even a couple trying to marry in front of the show.. so this is a LOT of people who came to your show and you made sure that your camera did not cover it.
I told that there are two news items here.. One is obviously about the media bias. The second is about media not covering the protest; and in fact the second one is even more interesting to the media like BBC, dont you think? That got attention. :-) I got a bit more listening, but they will not do anything.
Keep calling!! 212-664-4444 Ask for them to give coverage. If they transfer you straight to the answering machine, leave a message, call back and ask to be connected to Today show and demand coverage.
the news channels won't give coverage to people protesting them. not good for ratings.
but, newspapers may pick it up. and if somebody gets some photos/video, those can be circulated on the net.
the fact that they seemed to avoid going outside implies they were aware and didn't want that seen on tv.
the webcam is too darn far away.

I live 30 north of NYC and watching all morning. The local channel 4 news did not cover the Protest. As the went out to commercial they showed the protest group from a behind aerial shot of at least 200 yards away. That is NOT coverage. As I posted a little while ago it appears to be a crowd of 100 or so.
Awesome! I'm anxiously waiting for them to get back to their rooms and relate their experiences -- and see the pics plus the videos!

I can't believe this. I am listening to this pathetic NEWS broadcast that is The Today show.
I am behind by three hours and hearing the stories after they are happenning (from you) and am now listening myself to the Woman that was brutally raped and murdered, and no one came to her assistance except a female private citizens call to 911 and they "forgot" to notify the police.
Katie Couric, pregnant women and nighties, yeah we need to try even harder to "keep" our men when we are pregnant!!! How about saying "She already is sexy, she's carrying your child!! No nighties necessary!!
The stories all day seem to be about women and what we endure yet they have an opportunity to cover the NEWS as it plays out. Where people are screaming for a light!!! Shine it here!! Nothing...crickets. They just don't want to face what has been happening to all women everyday!! Not just HRC..all the time daily!!

They just ran the story that ya'll have heard already, about the Marine that raped the other Marine. Then he murdered her after she reported it..again (crickets). I wonder if it is sinking in as they "report" these stories?
They report these stories for the salaciousness that attracts viewers. Not because it is a problem that needs to be faced!!
Never mind that HRC is getting it constantly because she is the highest profile women in the world!!

I also encourage still calling and I did and noted my dissatisfaction with their TODAY show and the opportunity to do something DIFFERENT and be the first to have a conversation about these very issues and instead talked about facial expression that indicates relationship interest, pregant women nighties... and and NOT ADDRESSING the sexist issue with the Katie C. story they were just going to do the ol' patriarchial reponse "we think the world of her but poor baby..." women selling out and not taking the risk to say what it is SEXISM... a double standard and expectation...
CALLLLLLLLLLLL them anyway.... can't wait to hear from our people there and see their photos...looking forward to the new utube...

It was fabulous!!!!!! We had about 150 people there. Some got there at 6:30a.m.
Women, men, people of all color. People drove from Philly. Woman took the night bus down from Boston. People from Texas, some foreigners, the NC contingent and two lovely African Americans who made the trip in from Connecticut. Eyedoc, front and center. Les33 with the Bullhorn!!! Freethinker and Murray were interviewed by O'Reilly's producer. The papers were there taking lots of pics. Hillary speaks for me was there interviewing as well.
Passed out Press releases, this is only the beginning. Going to do more.
Everyone was so thrilled to be there and so enthusiastic. Yelled all during the Today show. Lots of police to keep us away and then they wouldn't let us use the bullhorn b/c Today show was still going on. Funny how they moved their stuff way down to the other end and kept the Singers on well past the TV time. Trying to shut us up I think.

This is FABULOUS news!!! I had a really hard time sleeping last night because I was so excited and anxious about how it would go today. I'm on the West coast and should have just waited to catch The Today show on the PST feed but I have satellite and woke up at 5:00 a.m. to watch it. I was switching back and forth between NBC, CNN, and Fox hoping someone would cover it. What a bunch of cowards except for Fox who comes through again. I really don't like O'Reilly but if I ever see him I'm gonna lay a kiss on him that will have everybody talking!!!! :D:D
Thank you all so much for your hard work on this!! Do you think it would be beneficial to try to do a nationwide protest? If we planned in advance I think we could pull it off. And I mean everywhere! LA to DC and all in between!

I recorded the Today Show since it came on at 5:00 am my time. I have watched every time they've shown the outside and - nada!
Couple of interesting observtions:
1. When the show first began, they had an opaque screen in front of the windows behind Meredith and Matt where the crowd usually stands. They were later removed. I don't watch the show so don't know whether or not that's the norm.
2. As Jayling mentioned, there are cops outside. I had the same thought -they're keeping them away.
3. Matt had "Spitter" Matthews on to discuss the Clinton's finances. Looking at that obnoxious smirk on Spitter's face made my stomach turn.
At this point it's become obvious they don't plan to show the protestors. This is nothing new. I remember all the anti-war protests that were never given the time of day, even with thousands out there. If the media doesn't cover large protest like that, networks and shows sure aren't going to cover a smaller protest when they are the object of the protest!!
Maybe we need a "million woman march"??
I'll keep recording to see if they show anything at 10:00 a.m. - but I'm not getting it live so those of you in the East will probably know before I do.

Funny how they moved their stuff way down to the other end and kept the Singers on well past the TV time. Trying to shut us up I think.
I'm going to try to get the video loaded and the pics up on the web somewhere. So give me a few minutes, hours maybe....lol to get this up for you.
Let Indie know we did not read her speech. Did not even have time. So no worries about typos.

150--that is a HUGE success and it will be up to us to make sure we bombard the media/youtube with the pics and footage.
For all of you 150 out there today....you have my deepest respect for what you did.
Protests are difficult to organize on a grassroots level without the backing of a major group or organization BUT you did it!!!!
This experience will only make our next even bigger :)
THANKS SO MUCH GOOD JOB...we could hear you just not see you... and they were hiding you...they missed out.... HOPING TO HEAR it on FOX and SEE it on O'Reilly!

Great job guys!!! I am so proud of all of you for being there and for all of us on this board who spent all evening and morning e-mailing/blogging. My fingers are now numb! But it was well worth it. I did get a lot of failure to send notices to the e-mails I sent out. Most were to ABC affiliates.
Oh, how I hope O'Reilly picks it up!
Has anyone noticed the large amount of "pro-female" (or so the male dominated msm thinks they are) articles and segments being covered today? Even AOL has a story about, "10 Careers Where Women Have the Pay Advantage". Coincidence? I think not... maybe just a case of covering one's a**.
Again, great job, everyone!

Kitty,
This is FABULOUS news!!!
God bless you all!!!
CONGRATULATIONS HILLARY FORUM!!!!!!!! I am ECSTATIC!!!! SO PROUD! I sent emails to everyone on the MSNBC list. I think they must be bombarded with emails, Woohoo!!! This was a wonderful first step.
Someone said, "Maybe we need a "million woman march"?? I agree. I just received word of BO's Organizing Fellowship that ends in June. We know that they are organized and gearing up for August. We can be just as organized in voicing our Protests!

The effort and spirit of those 150 people who went out to speak for all of us impressed me so much that I just had to register here today. I always stop by this forum when I need a break from all the negative trolls on other sites. I am a huge Hillary supporter.
THANKYOU to all of those who ventured out to the TODAY show. Once again the TODAY show disappointed me. But you all did not! Great job!
I am going to write to them and ask them when they are going to do a segment on a "Day with Hillary" like they did with Obama. I use to think that main stream media had to give equal time to candidates. When did that rule go out the window?

I just have to share that I am so thankful for all who participated in New York in the protest and to those behind the scenes...calling...e-mailing....praying. I have watched every election since I can remember because my folks did and it was important to them. And I learned early on how important voting was and in school I learned how people had to fight for the right to vote...women...and African Americans. I watched the coverage of the fight for the right for all to vote in South because the news cared back then about the voters' rights. When I see what is happening today in the news it is like watching a foreign country's press. The press and media do not give us the story of the voter in Michigan and the voter in Florida who feels that their right as a voter as been trashed. The press and media no longer care that each voter's vote should be protected! The press and media have become biased and are trying to cover the elections to favor one candidate over another. Before I came to this forum I was writing many many e-mails asking for more coverage of issues and not the biased sensation type reports I was seeing over and over. The reporting grew even more biased. So today in New Youk City a major step was made to protest the wrongs we have been witnessing and I feel that our voices are being heard and those 150 that represent thousands will grow and grow. The videos made on you tube because of this protest and those that are to come from the protest are going to make an impact. This is just the beginning!

OK....just got back.
Advised them that the protest against media is now going national to other cities BECAUSE THEY CHOSE TO IGNORE THE PROTEST IN NYC. Other places are picking it up. Also told them there is boycott of products advertised on their media, especially NBC. Thought they would want to know. The protest is gaining strength quite rapidly; they might want to cover the news as it happens. I got a quiet "ok thanks"

The Protest against Media Bias and Vote Suppression was attended by about 150 people, assembled on 48th St. , just off of Rockefeller Plaza. We were holding home-made signs including "Stop the Tabloid news, Stop Gender Bias, Stop Media Bias, Count the Votes, Go Hill, Give'em Hill, Problematic White Woman-->, We're Here for Hillary and many other creative signs. We could see the cameras for the Today show and how the cameras were scanning the crowd on the half-hour, though they only did this early on (until 8:30am). After that they did not scan the cameras on our end of the Plaza. But there were many people walking along the sidewalk who stopped to see what was going on, many taking pictures as well and signing our petition. We were chanting at the half-hour breaks - though we were not sure if the tv audio picked it up. At 10 am the permit allowed the use of the Bullhorn - and we were chanting Stop Media Bias and Count the Votes and I know they heard us. After about 4 minutes the police came over and said some executives from NBC had called the city (I don't know which office) and complained that we were interfering with their sound meters. Well good, that was the point. But in deference to the police Les33 who had the bullhorn said he would put it down. I think we were too timid- probably could have gotten a few more minutes of Bullhorn time before ?they may have forced us to stop?.
We did have a permit and followed everything to the letter. A few of us were off message - have to work on that for the future. As mentioned by KittyNC, Bill O'Reilly's people were there and HillarySpeaksForMe was there as well. I spoke with the HillarySpeaksForMe reporter as did a few other people. I explained why we were there- to combat media and gender bias, because it is wrong no matter who you support and that we need to bring back the Fairness in Media Act - allowing people equal time to answer the kind of attacks being waged against Senator Clinton. I would say it was very successful for a first go-round. We need to keep up the pressure - you know the DNC will for Obama. Some people were talking about a follow-up Protest - a noon-time rally, catching all the people going for lunch in the same location as the protest today. I think this should go nation-wide in several mid and large media markets. This was just the beginning - this is the time to step forward and let Dean, Pelosi, Kerry, and the other Democratic elite know that in this country we elect candidates, we don't crown them. We can win this if we act now. One person alone can't do it - I say we shoot for a thousand protesters next time, and we won't put down the Bullhorn so soon- they'll have to listen then.

Perhaps, if the mental masturbating midgets here at Daily Kos would look at the other side of the coin, they'd see that they will NOT be able to win the GE without the other half of the Party. Yes, the Democratic Party, the Party that most of them are not a part of. Pretty pathetic for the Democratic Party stalwarts to know that their Party is attempting to be hijacked by the Mental Masturbating Misogynistic Midgets.

Endodoc-- you are spot on -- this MUST continue. I know about the upcoming Protest in the West Coast, and D.C. I am going to Philly with about 40 other organizers from TX next week to work for Hillary. It would be nice if we could plan another Protest against the DNC. and, you're right.. with at least 1000 Protestors -- this should have an impact, and would be a big story. We should plan that for the next month or so. And, acquire high-profile, Hillary supporters to speak. This can be done!!!!

Am thinking of writing to foreign affairs, because my protest is while this is happening in USA, will not come to visit USA. I too have experienced online what Hillary has experienced not to the degree, but it was bad enough, and a lot of it was in the Christian community that I experienced this in the course of doing ministery. Am like Hillary, gifted, anointed, equipped, one woman power house, but also have disabilities too. What is sad have been trying to heal, and the awful behaviour aggravates my disabilities.

Hi - I got there too late - the police said that the group had broken up about 15 minutes before I got there - I got there about 11:45AM- someone was still there with one of the the petitions though so I got to sign it demanding that the media treat Hillary with respect. Leaving the Plaza I did see Minka from the Morning JOe MSNBC on 48th street and spoke to her about their program this morning that implied Bill Clinton was bringing race into the campaign. I told her that she knows that Bill Clinton is not a racist, their program knows better than to imply otherwise- she said that she agreed with me and would speak to "Joe" Scarborough. So I put our two cents in on the issue.
