View Full Version : I Think This Is The Issue That Sinks Obama!!

We all knew something would come along to destroy the man!

I think this is it!! It proves his arrogance! It proves he does not understand the average american!

I even had a Obama friend (who is almost not a friend anymore) tell me he thinks this is Obama's downfall!!!!

I bet the polls go crazy next week for Hillary! Gallup will show her 5 points up by Tuesday!!

And then she can rip into him in the debate!

I just sent $50 more to hill!!!

YES!!! I knew something would happen!

I hope you are correct. This should be his downfall but I have felt several times that his downfall was imminent and it didn't happen. This should do it. I just hope it does.

I so hope you're right. It has always seemed that given enough time BO would shoot himself in the foot. Trouble has been that everytime he messes up, the MSM has down played. This time, it's hard to see how he could recover. But I never understimate the lengths to which his henchmen will go to give him an edge. Just wonder what kind of BS lies they are getting ready to unleash about Hillary to save his arrogant a** this time.

It's different this time, because this time it came from his own mouth.

Not Rev. Wright, not Michelle, not any surrogate. The man himself insulted the largest block of American voters.

I guess he will make another speach to fix the problem again like the situation with the pastor. He will also spend a little more money than usuall on ads and media manipulation to get this of the air. Like with the pastor, he told them to stop showing Wright's videos and they did. His arrogance is disgusting. This will slow him down, but we need a couple of big stories on his dirty past from the media to make the superdelegates wake up. Because even if we keep showing them the truth they are not open to anything but what Obama and the media has to say. They need to be shaken up. Ihope this one will do it , and I pray for it, but at least it will slow him down right before PA.

I really do hope so. I hope this doesn't get buried by spin. But so far, it's edged out the Bosnia gaffe by Bill. The slight to Iowans with the farmer story didn't take, but the media didn't pounce on it. I suppose it was early in the game before he started to be vetted.

I certainly do hope so.

It alarmed me when I heard some PA residents didn't hear about this story. We have to get the word out to them.

Maybe we can revive this now? It would give more evidence of his elitism.

YouTube - Obama surprised Iowans aren't asking him about corn

I think also early in the Iowa campaign, he had exclaimed to a crowd about the price of arugula at Whole Foods (OK, I don't even know what arugula is!)

Indeed!

This is why the media outlets, especially CNN are trying to spin this as hard as they possibly can! I just saw Ed Rendell on CNN and basically the reporter,
his name is John, was trying to get Ed to basically get Hillary to let go of this issue, saying something about getting her to back off putting a new tv ad out in small towns in PA regarding Obama's comment. He was strategically using words like, "Your fellow democrat", "We've all said things we wish we could take back", "What if he makes a statement to show that he really gets it and is sorry", ect..... in regards to Obama.

It's funny because I didn't hear him or any of this colleagues utter such phrases to prominent Obama supporters when they made a big to do about Hillary's misstep on her recollection of Bosnia. And that having nothing to do with her ability to lead or her record in the Senate, but CNN and other outlets and the Obama Campaign made sure they kept it going!

Now, now, Obama puts down small town America in PA and other states to a closed door fundraiser amongst his wealthy backers and CNN wants to sing Cumbia and let it go? He looks down on people her perceives to be less educated/well-to-do than himself and we are to not really examine that? I really am just dumbfounded at the audasity!

They know that Obama has shot himself in the foot with this and don't want Hillary to take full advantage showing the truth about Obama. A truth that many many times he has shown, but only now is it getting traction.

I love this from AP

There has been a small "political flare-up because I said something that everybody knows is true, which is that there are a whole bunch of folks in small towns in Pennsylvania, in towns right here in Indiana, in my hometown in Illinois, who are bitter," Obama said Saturday morning at a town hall-style meeting at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind.

SMALL political flare-up? Master of understatment.

The reason North Carolina hasn't fallen into Hillary's lap....YET is because;
North Carolina has a huge collegiate population both private and public. Large historically black colleges as well. There are large segments of AA in North Carolina, and there is a huge high tech industry in the triangle.

I think Obama took it for granted, but now, we are trying to get out the info on what he said by phone banking and writing letters to the editor, so he may want to rethink not confirming his presence in a debate here in Raleigh.

Please, oh please, let this be the thing that opens people's eyes.

I hope Hillary gets an ad out on this really fast! If this can be kept out in front all the way to 4/22, he is done.
The people I work with knew about it today and the weirdest thing is that most of them brought the Wright thing right back in with it. I was surprised at first but it makes sense. They just see it as the same thing- he just doesn't get it and he has no clue what we are about.

I agree that this issue will be Obama's undoing, or at least the start of it.

It's a clearer revelation of his "character". And that may be the theme
of the rest of the campaign - CHARACTER, rather than experience.

MSNC and CNN will have pundits that come on and try to essentially
say its just a speed bump in the campaign because "Obama later
apologized and explained himself." That's just people trying to cover their
a** as broadcasters and pundits.
You have to remember that is a whole thing behind the scenes unto itself.
They backed Obama, bit heavily into what they thought was
a whipped cream dessert, only to discover its dog poop inside.
Egos are at stake.

Meanwhile, its too late for a significant jury of voters to forget what Obama said. And its just one more objection to him added on the list!
And Hannity and company are NOT going to let this thing go - not ever.

Teflon Bambi! Rev. Wright didn't stick and neither will this!

Teflon Bambi has turned his statement inside-out! It's Washington politics ~ not bitter people!

Supporters across Pennsylvania are signing on to a letter to show that they agree with Barack's comments.

Take a moment to read the letter below.

Then use the form to the right to sign on and share your story of how you've been frustrated by Washington politics.

Read this letter and sign on to show your support
To Whom It May Concern:

We live in small towns and rural areas throughout Pennsylvania and we support Barack Obama for President...

... Unlike his opponents who have been part of the Washington establishment for decades, Barack Obama understands the struggles we are going through. We welcomed him with open arms as he made his way through small towns and rural areas on his recent bus tour across the state. And we will work day and night from now until the primary on his behalf not only because he has heard our frustrations, but because he speaks to our hope that Washington can actually work for people like us.

I think what is being overlooked here is that his statement is in response to the question of why he can't bring in the working class vote. People are going to hear the soundbite and all he is going to have to respond to is just that...the soundbite, not how he views a majority of the voting population.

I was thinking Hillary was out of the race, but this was a big mistake (although I thought the Wright was as well)

What this does:

1)Stops any supers for coming out for Obama in the next 2 weeks…they can’t or they too will be associated with these comments

2)Stops any PA moment he had…I was pretty sure without this story Hillary was still going to get a 10 point win, but this could deliver the 20+ point that she needs.

3)People now can directly connect his wifes statements, and his pastors statements to his statements. People are smart enough to see trends.

4)Eventually (this is a big IF) ardent MSM supporters are going to have to distance themselves from Obama just in case he loses. Who is going to watch Olbermann after the primaries if his horse isnt in…..will he just do a daily hour of reminising for BO and possibly start a write-in campaign…No….if thinks start turning on Barack the MSM will have to as well or they wont have a candidate come NOV

5)By a strange coincidence Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and NC still have to vote in the next month. It will have effects in these states as well. Strongly in some.

6)Supports hus growing “above us” theme that has risn in the last couple weeks. BTW did anyone today see him serving cheeseburgers with tongs from a silver platter while wearing a shirt and tie and delicately folding his napkin over his lap……Yeah mate, you know us really well….Its priceless

7)Most strongly, it finally is a direct example of the pandering Obama does to his audiences. To me the largest part of this story is him talking badly about PA behind closed doors to his rich buddies and them laughing a long. Disgusting behavior.

8)The timing is also terrible for him…..this is no Friday news story dump…It will grow throughout the weekend (especially Sunday morning) and will remain the headline ALL week leading up until PA. Its also not long enough for the MSM to bury it like they did with Wright

9)Two funny things to end on…the story was broken by an Obama supporter on the Huffington Post…LOL…..Once again watching the Probama media squirm with this story is priceless….as time judges these people who are apologizing and condoning his words, they will get whats coming to them and will be forever associated with backing the wrong horse

10) Guess whose not going to forget Axelrod and his beloved teleprompter EVER again

Hi Murray:

Where does he get the nerve to speak to the American people with such blatant disregard and disrespect?

His rebuttal was worse than the first statement, and from I stand that is strike three and he is out. He simply cannot hide his total disrespect for the American people. His abhorrence of our country is obvious.

We have issues and a lot of work to do. However, I love my country and I’m proud of it.

“Go home Obama, wherever home is. Do one right thing and get out of this campaign so that we can get on with the work of pulling American out of the mess from the last 8 years of horrid management.”

Either he had the audacity or he implored others to do the dirty work of asking Hillary to step aside. It’s time that we asked Mr. Obama to step aside.

I am asking right now. “Go home Obama we don’t want you for our President. We have a lot of work to do and you are an unnecessary obstacle blocking American progress. You may not love America but we do. So go home Obama!”

We are asking you to step aside because we don’t want you as our President. I know you have spies and hackers in our forum. How childish! But all works to the good of those that love God. Did Jeremiah Wright ever tell you that?

Send all the spies and hackers you please because we are not afraid of them or you. So go home, get out of this race. Let Senator Clinton get on with the business of helping us to heal America. We have computer experts also, but we are too honorable to hack your site. Actually, we could care less what you are saying on your site. The worse agony I could imagine is having to listen to you more than 2 minutes.

Go home Obama!

I think this will be the last big chance for Obama to patch something up. CNN's compassion forum has taken on a new intention, the salvation of Obama. I predict that they will try and resurrect him, and show disparity in their talk with Hillary afterwards or vice verse. (Probably vice versa, how else is Obama going to get his talking points or any new ideas without her going first? sorry that's my typical woman bitterness speaking). I believe how he is perceived through this, will shape how this continues. or at least have a large part of how MSM takes it, not Hannity, he's going to be a rabid dog on this and I cheer him on (ewwww, I might have to was my mouth out with soap for cheering for Hannity)

hi:

April 13, 2008

The American people shall let Obama know who we really are. We are not as stupid as he thinks we are. He flew under the radar in those first primaries. He should never have won the first one.

It’s a colossal shame that other candidates did not call him on the carpet. Maybe they did not dare due to the Oprah factor, which she says had been going for a long time, She said, "MY long time friend, Barack Obama) MSNBC, CNN and others involved that can no longer call themselves reporters of truth.

I missed part of the early campaign due to several deaths in my immediate family so I came in this campaign a little behind. However, I am working everyday and well caught up by now.

My theme is “Obama go home, step down now. We don’t want you as our President. You don’t even know us; you know little about America, so step aside and let a real American help us do the work that we face.”

Obama has a nice house, a questionable next door lot thanks to his good friend Rezko, two beautiful daughters, one not so beautiful wife, but what the heck he can’t have everything. Nevertheless, he has a job in the United States Senate, (God forbid). He has a lot for which he should be thankful (no pun intended). He should count his blessings and be gracious enough to step aside; get out of this race so that we true Americans, along with President Hillary Clinton can get to work serving the needs of America.

This is going to be the issue that does it for him. It is not going away because it is the weekend. Here is a link to a story from WPVI in Philadelphia.

Here's another link that I believe sums it all up.

He's at it again. Article in The Chicago Sun Times with Audio link.

Why didn't association with this Rev. Wright be enough to sink Sen. Obama?

To me the largest part of this story is him talking badly about PA behind closed doors to his rich buddies and them laughing a long. Disgusting behavior.

same for me. his words themselves didn't surprise me. saying it behind closed doors to wealthy people who laughed, insulted me. this, to me, really has shown his true character. they laugh. disgusting.

Unfortunately, this won't hurt him that much. :( He has the best supporters in the world:

the media.

They'll constantly say how this didn't affect him, like they're doing now with the Rev. Wright scandal. Of course, we won't know if the Wright scandal and now this really will affect him until PA votes.

That's how I feel also, and why I was so depressed last night. I still don't feel much better this morning in spite of the fact that this story is making the rounds on the Internet.

Everyone keeps saying that the GOP will rip him to shreds if Obama is the nominee. The media certainly helped the GOP rip Kerry to shreds, but I never got the idea that the media was on Kerry's side. This time, I think it's more likely that the media would help the Obama campaign rip McCain to shreds.

And, of course, that's all predicated on Obama being the nominee anyway, which is NOT YET TRUE....so I'll shut up now before I bring everyone down. :(

Let's keep fighting for Hillary!

Washington Politics?!? I thought this was going to be a new kind of politics. Sound's pretty old to me.

Or maybe this is the new old politics?

I guess we just don't undersplain what he's trying exstand.

From the begining he was going to do everything different, no lobbyists, no typical old time politics and then all the old time politicians endorsed him he could not say that anymore... he was going to agree to use the PAC limited monies and now NOPE he has come up with his own method to use ALLLLL THE TONS OF MONIES HE HAS REC'D because for him the bottom line is that is how he became a Senator he learned it is not what you do it is WHO YOU KNOW and the MONEY YOU HAVE and people went for it... because he said it was different huh??? ya know when someone or something is too good to be true it usually is ------how come too many still are too slowly getting this .....? .... nobama... time to drop out!

Hicks nix clique's shticks (http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NGIxNDdkYzEyNGMyZWYwMmM0NzliYTQ5MTU4YmJkMjc=)If you're running as a glamorous blank slate on which people project their own utopian fantasies, you've got to be very careful not to give the game away - especially when the game turns out to be the usual cliched elite disdain for the great unwashed.

I don't think that this will sink him. Much more dirt has to come out. I do think he may be unelectable, but Obama has help. I heard that Jimmy Carter and Al Gore have a plan to eliminate Clinton out of the race.

If he makes the nomination, he will probably do the same to McCain as he did to Clinton and rig the election.

Remember when I said that Hillary would be blamed even if Obama is the nominee and loses in November?

From an article about Obama's "bitter" gaffe on thenation.com (http://www.thenation.com/blogs/campaignmatters?pid=309337):

The Right has its reasons to play this cynical card. It is the Clinton campaign's rapid-fire, right-wing populist response to Obama's remarks that I find so troubling and cynical, and sure to hurt the party and the country in the general election.

He's so right!

great video! good points about the double standard. Yeah, what if Clinton had said her best friend was a typical black person?

BO's strength has been in the inner city and metropolis. His weakness was in rural areas. Now, he put down the small-town and suburbs.

It was not a happenstance. He had done it before in Iowa. So, this is a in his grey matter.... and it comes out either when unguarded, or when it suits his purpose.

He had already angered the ruralites who are proud patriots. They said give him another chance.. perhaps he didnt hear the sermons.

But they cannot ignore when the condescending, elitist words came from him, and behind closed doors, far away from the small town in uppidy neighborhoods. It was a total give-away on the real character.

Go here and look up the "by-county" victory and distribution of voting:
http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/states/CA.htm
and go to the state/county distribution... and then look at MARGIN OF VICTORY tab.
You can look up for every state by editing the URL with State code.

You can clearly see that where he has won is very spotty and by big margin. But a lot of that population itself has moved there from sub-urbia and small-town and rural areas. The direct hit on rural small-joe will hurt the sensibilities of people who view themselves as big town with the small-town spirit. The put down was so huge.. because it make the gun-holder and the church-goer into likely the bitter person... dont forget, he has a couple of very ambiguous positions on gun control and his churchgoing is a bit of a questionmark on many fronts. So, America is quite sensitized by both subjects, and now he blended into that "small-town" and stabbed at the pride of average Americans. What's more, he did that behind closed doors (media not invited) in ritzy forum.. a sign of duplicity... that Americans are keyed into. Trustworthiness becomes a question yet again, and this time, the words are his own.. so it takes trustworthiness down the toilet.

It is the beginning of the end, if not the end in itself.

I think that as the dust settles and the Odinga factor comes out, and darfur looks like a trip to disneyland next to the ravaging that Odinga is beginning in Kenya, once pictures of the slaughters are spread through the media, then I believe that, that with an image of Obama will so sicken us, that his name will become synonymous with hoodwinked, shyster, snake oil salemsan.

Why does the media leave out the final part of Obama's "bitter" speech? Isn't he the great Unifier? Or does in bring in the Race Card? "Black guy" comment!!
