Here is an article about the Pope's views. In my experience having lived in Europe and in Italy, I think there is a subtle (political) agenda to the Pop's visit. What do you think it is?

I heard that part of his agenda is to talk with President Bush about the role of Islam and this comes after his conversion of one or two Muslims in the Easter Mass. I seem to think it has to do with our political election. Comments please.

I think it has to do with the Pope does best...no birth control, no freedom of choice for women, and enforcing the doctrine to the faithful. He is the Pope and that is what the Pope does. I'm Roman Catholic. It is his job.

We were brought up Roman Catholic and my husband is from Italy (as in immigrant). The Italians know that the Pope and the Catholic church have much political influence. We also keep in touch with family there and this is the realization of the people. The article is entitled "Geopolitical" for a reason.
When I studied at the university through my BA and MS, the Pope is very politically influential. It has been so throughout Western Civilization.
