View Full Version : Official Hillary Blog - Appoval of Comments?

I think only about half of my comments ever seem to appear on the official Hillary blog. What is their rational for comment approval? I submitted a comment to each of these blog items but neither was added to the list of comments:

http://blog.hillaryclinton.com/blog/main/2008/03/05/152047

I posted my comments a couple of hours ago but they have not appeared yet. I will check again later but so far, not appearing...

Hey Murray, it took 2 hours for a comment of mine to show up last night. Did they do away with the blog altogether do you you know? Because it's ridiculous to have to wait so long for anything if at all to post.

Murrary, I've given up trying to get heard on the main Blog. Only had 1 out of approximately 20 make it in over the last month. So I don't even try anymore.

Hi there Jayling! I'm trying to get in touch with liveworld today about what is going on with the main blog. Also, I got an activation call sheet for Wyoming, so I'm going to msg. you here with my reg. e-mail address, and if you are interested, I will send you the activation sheet.

Same thing has happened to me when I try to post comments on the main Hillary website blogs (the ones w/threads started by staffers). Only half of my comments get posted, too (and they've all been positive comments!) Well, at least I know now it's not just me!!

I posted 2 comments (one last night and one today) on the "An Incredible Feeling" blog and neither has posted as yet. I used to think it had to do with email volume, but last night I posted a Thank You to RI on their state page. There were only 6 comments. Mine never showed up. Thinking it could be a computer glitch, I tried to post the message again this morning. Not posted yet and there are only 7 comments, so email volume not the problem. I'm wondering if perhaps the main office just doesn't have enough people to review the comments, and that's why some never get posted. Not a good system at all, if you ask me! :(

That's why I'm so glad I found this forum for Hillary supporters. We don't get ignored here!!:)

That's terrible.

And that's why this forum is good because it creates a permanent log of our comments, opinions and ideas.

I always try to write positive, constructive and substantive comments so I agree, it's disheartening when they don't appear. Especially when some of the comments that get published don't really say anything at all! That's why I wondered where the logic was in approving/not approving certain comments. It's most likely just an administration issue with the activity not being properly staffed and therefore the approval is quite random and unpredictable.

That's happened to me as well...what angers me most is that trolls have more of a chance to post comments than I do!

Same in here. My blogs never show up there. I was so mad about few weeks ago when I was trying to post a message about her position on NAFTA and petition against CNN to stop bias treatment that I even send an email complaint comment to Hillaryclinton.com and a copy of it to her New York state senator site. I got a very nice respond from her New York site that they understand my frustration but they have no control over the hillayclinton.com blogs. I think you go girl and I donated today are the only messages that the mods feel comfortable enough to appear. I know one of my best friends who used to donate stop doing so after getting so frustrated with her website. I honestly think she should fire all the mods there.

I too have given up trying to post there. Monday I posted about 12 times that I made a donation of $44.44 but none of them showed up. Very frustating!!

I don't comment that often but it's nice to be here where I know it will show up. I don't feel like I am invisible anymore.

Precisely, it's very disheartening to contribute comments and never see them appear! The CNN Political Ticker is another one that I have bad feelings towards in this regard!

CNN is the WORST. The ABC News Blogs are the best as the comments appear instantly. All of my comments at ABC have been published so I would recommend if you want to submit comments to news sites, go straight to ABC News.

I don't believe you'll be able to, SantaCruz, sorry.

I made sure to do a Save As in my browser for my Blogs, to at least have it available on my drive. I know that doesn't help you though.

The only advice I can give is to always save your work somewhere on your drive -- the administrators of websites can snuff out your work in a flash.

Again, I'm sorry you lost your best articles, Cruz :(

SantaCruzen, if you go to the blog page and scroll down to the bottom of the lowest blog, there is a NEXT button. I clicked it a few times and got back to the Feb 29th blogs but I don't know how far back it goes. Is that what you are looking for?

I think she is referring to the blogs where wrote herself within the Action Center, not the Hillary blogs written by staffers which appear on the public site.

I think we should encourage the folks at hillaryclinton.com to put a link to this forum on their site. I'm sure many Hillary supporters are unaware of this site, and now that the blogging option at hillaryclinton.com is gone (and it was never very efficient anyway), this site is a great alternative.

Maybe if we all contacted hillary's office and asked them to link this site, we can get some action?

What ever happened to the blog section on there?

I've been lucky with about 66% of my posts on there going through. They were going through a lot better before they opened the forum and Obamians came in and started posting a lot of nasty messages. I'm sure they are probably really backed up from all the great news last night. At least I hope so!

I think this is a valid point, Deb. One of the benefits of this forum is that it is independent and not officially linked to the campaign. As such, it's easier to present a more critical voice about the opponent as HC will not be held accountable for our views! And I think the BO info is important for people to see and I don't want to have to drastically censor content just to be able to accept a link from the official HC site. What do others think?

The traffic from the site would be great but I can't see them linking to this forum for the reasons stated above. The way to attract HC supporters from the official site is by placing the forum link in comments submitted by any one of us to the HC blog articles. That would be sufficient I think.

i am wondering why not one of my posts submitted there have ever posted?

it is begining to appear, to me, that only those with proof of monetary gifts are posted. as a disabled person struggling on ssi, (and no medical treatment) i have not a dime to donate, but i want to give my support. is it not wanted there?

i am becoming sick of this nasty campaign and think i am going to bow out and let those with the real power (money) fight it out. those of us who live well below povery level apparently don't matter, to any of the candidates.

i wish senator clinton good luck. with that, i bow out of it all.

I too feel the frustration at the slow progress of posts. In fact out of frustration one of my posts went like this....We need a place where Hillary supporters can blog and carry on a conversation without being harassed by BO supporters. As a fervent Hillary supporter it would be nice to be able to share comments, concerns and ideas with like minded individuals.

Needless to say my post never made it. So my next post said hello???? can you hear me now??? That never made it either. Then lo and behold that very same day when I was reading through the various posts that did make it and I came across a post by emma that had a link to this forum, so here I am and very happy to be.:)

All of my YouTube videos teaching how to Caucus made it to the Texas blog and one of the main blogs.

But, if I put any of the following words in them, then they don't print them:
Republican, Obama, or sexism.

You need to spin them so there is only positive wording for Senator Clinton. Anything that looks remotely negative or says something disparaging about Obama doesn't seem to make it.

You also need lots of exclamation points!!! Excitement seems to win over substance...odd isn't it?

First, so many people are writing such good things about Hillary that is takes a whille to post them at the official site.

Second, so many people are writing such bad things about Hillary that the web folks have to sort through and delete them all. As the campaign heats up even more, this will take longer. A quick scan through many bo blogs and media blogs shows the many, many negative messages bo folks and the media leave. How Hillary's webmaster team stays positive through it all is proof of Hillary's character shining through.

Third, Hillary folks are hard at work in PA calling, donating, canvassing and hopefully registering PA voters by 3/22 to give us more votes. This does take time away from the main blog. I would rather our team be out meeting people and getting votes than have my blog appear. We're talking about millions of people who blog across the country daily. Writing the blog gives ME comfort and positive energy. I know the essence of our good wishes appears in others' blogs.

Please, let's not get frustrated at a positive--so many people blogging good stuff and web team preventing bad stuff. And keep blogging at the official site--we ARE being heard and counted.

I think Karen Keef is right on target. It gets kind of scary to listen to some of the blogs here. I don't often get my blogs posted but that is a common problem. But what the heck, I'm in it to win it. People like the donation meter they use, it encourages them to donate. Hillary can't win without money. Many can't donate, but all they have to do is ask if someone will donate for them, Yeah, that's right, I've witnessed that. No, it sounds like some of you are abandoning Hillary because of the main site. Please don't do it! keep on donating . That's the only way her boat can float. Those people on her web site do not always get their blogs printed either, but they keep at it and keep donating. They are trying to raise 3 million in three days. So far they are doing OK. All she has to do is ask and they respond. I'm one of them.

Murray, it usually takes an hour or so. Also, I noticed that when I was in any way negative, they would NOT post my blog. If I am upbeat, then my responses get posted. I think they are avoiding as much as possible any sort of criticism of Hill's opponents.

Also, are you are part of the Hillary Rapid Responders Team? I ALWAYS write to them and vent, vent, vent and give them suggestions as to where and to whom we should respond, blog, to. Hope this helps.

Here's the link: http://www.hillaryresponders.com

What is a Hillary Rapid Responder?:
Someone who speaks the truth to the media about our candidate's message and positions.
Someone who counters the attacks with factual truths.
Someone who stands up against the constant and negative bashing of our candidate.
