Time for something different...!

Nothing is ever 100% bad!

Here are the rules for this post:

* Name things you LIKE about Obama - either about his personality, his policies, his politics, his campaign, whatever - but it must be something you LIKE

* You CANNOT post anything about Obama that you DON'T LIKE!

I'll start...

Things I like about BO:

* I think he is physically handsome/attractive

* I like his campaign logo

* I like the "look" of his website & other online representations (eg myspace page)

* I think his name is very catchy/memorable

He reminds me of Barney Fife *who I think is hillarious! It always makes me smile* okaaaaaay sorry, I'll do better.

I like his logo too

I like his future prospects *like in eight years*

I like his ties

I like some of his supporters

I like the things he said about Senator Hillary Clinton when she campaigned for him to get in the senate. He loved her then!

His campagn logo & the look of his web-site. ( Is part of the image that they are trying to project)

I like his ties, but I will... forget it I do not want to give ideas to make him look better.

Sorry, his ideas are the same as HRC. He just xerox them.

I'll fess up, the fact that he's left handed sort of saves him to a tiny extent in my eyes. Being left-handed myself, I have to cut fellow southpaws some slack.

But then again, Bill Clinton is also left-handed.:p

Oh WOW!! This is a tough assignment! Ha!!

I like Obama's tall lean look.
I like his ability to capture an audience.
I like his organizational skills with gathering caucus votes.
I like the professional look of his web site.
And, that is ALL I like about him!! Ha!!!

He shoots hoops.

He is light on his feet.

He knows the way home to Illinois.

He will have an affinity for African problems.

He is young and can learn a lot until he gets a chance to run in eight years.

He has nice kids.

He could make a living doing voice-overs.

He has no where to go but up, based on a fair analysis of his record.

Oprah loves him.

He is adept with a Xerox machine.

He can make a good living as a impersonator. (though he is no Frank Callendo)

He has great skill reading teleprompters, very smooth.

1) He is really skinny and is hiding that in his suite.
2) He does have a better marketing strategy.

I think the thing I like most about him is that he's so tall he has to bend over in the airplane when talking to reporters.

Oops. Turbulence:)

Yes, I like this tall/lean look too.

(After his latest stunts today though, I am wondering why I was so gratious to start this thread...!...but I will let it stay...positive thoughts!)

2) He does have a better marketing strategy.

In this case "better" = greater capacity to deceive and manipulate.

I'd never want to be associated with such a marketing strategy!

So I think #2 fails to make the "good thoughts" list :)

Yep, I saw it. I really hate to admit that I'm watching Fox:)

He was a Dem strategist from California. Finally a Dem seeing the truth.

That's a shocker!

Now maybe Chris Matthews will stop his lavatorial talk when describing Obama;)

Let me think!

Ditto!:p

No hatred here at all, mind you, but I'd just rather put deceptive people out of my consciousness entirely and hope that will soon be possible re Obama. Unless he has a major epiphany down the road, he's done politically. I'd rather see Mayor Michael Nutter of Philly rise to the top.

Angelica91

He's a good speaker.
He uses media very well.
Somebody says he's a hot man...maybe...but I falling in love with the one hot political man ever...Bill!:psorry!:D

Area504
03-16-2008, 12:28 PM
I could play along with this and give you one or two meaningless things I like about the man (he's not bad looking, etc.)

Maybe that means we're good people.

But, you know, having just come from a board where HRC gets trashed hour after hour, I don't see anyone even trying to say anything positive about her, even if it were some superficial thing.

So, forgive me, but maybe I'm not as good a person as some of you. I don't really feel up to playing this game right now.

I find this thread just a little inappropriate seeing as how Obama's on the verge of winning the democratic primary ONLY because of the reasons listed in the posts in this thread...

But hey, I'll give it a try...

What I like about Obama is the way he knows how to keep himself looking squeaky clean by letting his wife, Michelle, pull all the evil punches.

okay, that's hard, but i'm going to be honest;):

- i think he's very good-looking
- his little girls are extremely cute (sorry, but I have to admit, that Chelsea wasn't as cute as a child, even if she's beautiful by now...)
- his wife is also very pretty:)
- he's an extraordinary speaker
- he has a great ability to inspire people and involve them in the political process
- his campaign had the better thought out after- Super Tuesday- strategy (okay, that's a compliment, but i don't like this fact;))

conclusion: in eight years he'd be a great president, but now its hillary's turn!

samkm
03-16-2008, 03:04 PM
What struck me is that he was angry at his mom for "her experiment'"
He did not grow up a well centered kid. That's the kind of people who will lead themselves into all kinds of poor influences.. because the core of principles is not strong.
http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/showthread.php?p=13825#post13825
He has good "elocution delivery" skills combined with good voice... all put to bad use.. and on zero principals. A total sham!

Let us FOCUS on what we are doing here.. we are not deciding whether to have him over for sunday afternoon high tea.

This is serious. IS he ready to lead the FREE WORLD? NO!!!!!!

[By the way, Chelsea is well centered, a major achievement by the parents despite all odds.]

of course not, that's why we're Hillary supporters and i would vote for McCain in the fall, should he be the nominee. But we still can like a few superficial things about him and his family:)

I think the campaign structure is great--grassroots up. However, unfortunately if I researched how it came about, I think I would find the structure is modeled after Howard Dean's campaign structure. So that negative of "xeroxing" things comes back to bite me. (I tried. :))

*He hasn't killed anyone yet.

*His character on SNL is hilarious.

*He is resourceful.

*If you don't take him seriously, he is a riot.

*He will most likely bring about the second coming of Christ (just not in the way he THINKS he will!)

*He has the catchiest theme songs (Think: Obama Girl and Will.i.am's "Yes We Can" video)

*He is a good actor, probably one of the best who has ever lived.

*He is more intelligent than people give him credit for. How else could he have fooled so many?

*His daughters are so cute!

*He will get his ass handed to him this election.

Putting aside all of my biases to honor Muzza's request:

- I do like the fact that he is a family man. You can tell that he is very devoted to his wife and daughters (who are just so cute).
- He is very ambitious, if nothing else
- He has successfully captured the interest of the younger generation. I have NEVER seen so many young adults engaged in politics.
