Last week, in response to a thread asking us all to contact several governors--including Montana's governor Schweitzer--and ask them to endorse Hillary, I wrote the following:

Dear Mr Schweitzer,

We now know a lot about Barack Obama, including his 20-year close relationship with his "spiritual advisor" and "mentor," Jeremiah Wright, his involvement in money laundering, his long history of being associated with extremist and/or radical groups such as the New Black Panther Party and the Weathermen Underground, and his undeniable lack of qualifications to be president of the United States.

On the other hand, Hillary Clinton has a long, proven track record of working for the good of the people and for actually accomplishing CHANGE--which is something Obama can only speak about in abstract terms.

In light of all this, I respectfully request that you endorse not only the person who is the most qualified candidate, Hillary Clinton, but also that you pay attention to recent polls showing that Clinton beats John McCain HANDILY in the General Election, while Obama loses to McCain by several points. If you're truly interested in doing what's right for our party and for this country, it's imperative that you back Hillary Clinton.

Guess what today's snail mail brought? (Well, if you've read the title I gave this thread...you already know!) Yep, a handwritten postcard signed by [apparently] Gov Schweitzer. I say apparently, because it's just a "B" with a sort of line flowing from it. Here's what the card says:

Dear *my name*,

Thank you for your comments on the presidential race. I appreciate your perspective.

Sincerely, B...

Short and sweet, but I think it's a really nice touch that he (or his office) actually goes to the effort of sending out individual replies like this. :D

Thanks for sharing your letter with us... We might "borrow" a few lines when writing to the Supers.... It was factual, forceful and effective!
