Argggghhhh!!! This happens to me every primary. I'm an instructor with a Tuesday evening class and I can't let it out early (it's too difficult of a class). So what happens is I have to prep for class all day today (at least I can watch the news while I work) then right as the results start coming in here on the West coast (around 6pm) I have to leave to class!!!! Infuriating....I teach the whole time wondering how we are doing.
Anyone else have the same situation?

Cool we have two science instructors (edited for proper wording - don't want to pull an Obama) on here!! (Computer Science)
That's cool you had time to be congressional coordinator - I'm a first year instructor so all I can do is contribute as much as possible. I wanted to go to Oregon but school doesn't get out until June and then I only have a week or so off before summer classes start....maybe I can do something during that week. =)

Make that three, but I teach during the day this semester. Optics.
Rigel, if you have a cell phone, you should have someone you trust here text you with the results as they come in.
For me, I would just do a little victory dance in between discussing Maxwell's Equations.

LOL - I have an internet connection so I can check during our break! And maybe try to sneak in a post.
It's odd...they say the students are so into this election but mine sure aren't!

I don't work but I have a class every Tuesday night . . . Prof, is that you?? :)
Knowing that, I signed up for CNN Breaking News alerts awhile back (my state voted on Super Tuesday).

They don't give you the percentages but they do announce when somebody takes a state. When I saw that she took California, I could hardly keep still for the rest of class!
I'm hoping to have the same feeling tonight!! :D

Too bad you can't incorporate tracking the race results into your curriculumn

I work 3:00 to 11:00. At least I'm connected to a computer and the internet, so when there's a lull in my work I can pop online to check out the results.

Yes, I'll be pushing spaghetti tonight. Tuesday evenings are usually slow and normally I would be cut fairly early, but our local community college graduates tonight and that means we'll be slammed and I won't get home until about 10 p.m... maybe even later.
My 16 year old daughter has the drill down pat, though .... she knows that when I get a quick minute to call that I need the state and the percentages per candidate... and she knows I need them fast so I can get back before anyone's salad bowl gets too empty! :D
