Default (June 12, 08) Please Support Womencountpac Ads For HRC

June 12, 2008

Dear Friends,

We are putting the finishing touches on our next ad, which we're hoping to run in the New York Times as soon as Monday. We think you'll love the content - and this is no time to sit back and wait. More than ever, we must stand up and be counted - all 18 million of us. But we can't do it without you. We are still short of the necessary funds to place the ad. The headline is "We're still here. We're listening. And we're not going away." It says we will not rest until we hear from the Democratic party and its nominee about how they will:

represent the 18 million Americans who voted for Hillary;

acknowledge Hillary's 35 years of experience;

reform a flawed nominating process, especially caucuses;

address the flagrant, often hostile, gender bias in the campaign;

assure parity to the 52 percent of Americans who are women;

apologize for their public silence in the wake of the outrageous attacks leveled by Father Pfleger against Hillary;

and support the issues we hold dear, such as health insurance for everyone, a good start for all children, a strong economy, and a smart environmental policy.

It is so important that we speak out and speak up at this critical moment. Hillary's supporters around the country are launching many different efforts, and WomenCount respects all of those views. We believe that the points we raise in this ad are shared by everyone, and we hope you will get behind our latest effort.

To contribute, go to www.womencountpac.com.

Remember that the quickest way to get the funds to us is to send a check by overnight mail or print out and fax back the credit card form you can download from the web site.

Thank you for your continued support.

Thumbs up

This is a worthy cause. Susie Buell of Women's PAC was reported in today's NYTimes as witholding funding to Obama and the DNC.

This ad keeps HRC front and center.

18,000,000 are not going away.

Default Not sure I understand

I agree with the issues that are being placed in the ad, but do not get the feeling that the ad is directly seeking to assist Senator Clinton.

Am I reading the goal of the ad incorrectly? Again I agree that all the stated issues need to be addressed. I just don't see what that does for Sen. Clinton. I'd rather contribute to some of our new PAC's which I think are directly working at getting people to see that it is not in the country's best interest to vote for BO in November.

Maybe I'm off the mark here.

Default Thanks Joeysky18

I'm really new at all this despite being a long time Democrat.
For previous elections I usually just learned what I could about the candidates and unless there were some major reason not to, I voted for the Nominee. This time it was different as I am totally for Senator Clinton. I was originally on her official campaign site and then came to the forum.
I must say I have learned a lot from the people here and am grateful that I decided to jump in even though I'm still a little intimidated by this blogging thing.
Thanks again.
Maria,
Queens, NY

Yes. This is the most important election there has been for decades. Hillary is also exceptional, I've waited 8 years for her to run. She is so exceptional, she garnered 18 million votes, breaking all records. I've never seen a candidate like her.

Jump in, the water's fine

I searched for this and couldn't find it... would you mind posting a link? I think this will come up again and would like to have a link to provide when it does.

BTW, I'm ecstatic the learn that they won't give their $$$ to FLUFF or DNC!

Default just donated... am not going to miss this one... we need to get things out to the public!

Appreicate the efforts by so many and trying to incorporate the wide and varied angles of great and serious injustice and attacks to democracy this primary has elicited. NOBAMA needs to be STOPPED FOREVER and the DNC closed if needed... NOW IS THE TIME FOR A CLEARING OF THIS MALFUNCTIONING PARTY... we definitely need a new party too!
